Ronald E. Tichy, 80, of Waterford, Wisconsin, went home to be with Jesus on November 22nd, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home.
Ron was born on October 23rd, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was the oldest child of Earl and Katherine (Liebsch) Tichy. He was raised in St. Francis, Wisconsin, and graduated from South Division High School in 1961.
Ron proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp as a radio relay operator from 1961-1965. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Fay Lee, on March 14th, 1964. He spent much of his working life as a truck driver, but found his true calling was serving God and others in children and youth ministries, lay witness missions throughout Wisconsin, he preached as a licensed local pastor and a proud volunteer at the Veterans Home in Union Grove, a volunteer with Prison Fellowship and Southern Oaks Girls School. Most recently he served in the Grief Share ministry at Community Church. He served the community as an election poll worker, a member of Bixby-Hansen American Legion Post #171 and he was a member of the advisory board of Leadership Union Grove.
Until we meet again, Ron is leaving behind his wife, Fay, of 58 years. His daughters, Kimberly (James) Harry and Katherine (Steve) Botsford, his daughter/niece Patti (Gary) Meerschaert and nephew, David Norship. Grandchildren Jacob, Sam, Ella, Steven, Gerald and Jenna and Great Grandchildren Olin and Emery. His siblings Jack (Jackie) Tichy, Kathy Stobaugh, Dennis (Vicki) Tichy, and Karen (Tim) Presley. Ron will join his parents Earl and Katherine, in heaven. He will also be reunited with his grandson, Noah Harry, in heaven.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Croix hospice for the love, care and compassion shown to our entire family.
The following words were found in Ron’s wallet, which he carried with him since high school…“I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing, therefore, that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” Stephen Grellet.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at Community Church, (455 S Jefferson St. Waterford, WI 53185), on November 29th, 2022.
