Norwood James Steinbauer, aka "Jim", age 77, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020. Jim was born March 11th, 1943 to George and Anna (Chudada) Steinbauer. He was raised in Milwaukee and graduated from Boys Tech, where he participated in gymnastics and football. Jim proudly served his country from 1962 - 1968 as a Sergeant E-5 with the Marine Corp completing two tours in Vietnam. Jim pursued a lifetime career as a grocery store manager, where he met his lovely wife Linda, and the relationship turned into a 50 year marriage. Jim was a hardworking man who enjoyed family vacations, weekends on the lake, playing the guitar and singing, dancing ("soft shoeing "), and driving fast cars. He was a man who could tell stories for hours, which you couldn’t help but hear due to his inability to speak quietly. Of all the honors that he had in life, we are quite certain that being " Papa" was his greatest one!
Jim is survived by his wife, Linda and his children, Laurie Balts (Dave), Curt Steinbauer, James Steinbauer (Linda), Mollie Burke (Ryan), and Annie Polster (Kevin). He has 10 grandchildren including Brodie, Brylie, Paxton, Hadley, Nathan (Michelle), Clinton (Nicole), Kristin (Alan), James (Andrea), Jeremy (Courtney), and Kristina. He has 13 great grandchildren including Hayden, Sawyer, Hannah., Colin, Ashlynn, Noah, Nikolas, Alayna, Kate, Michael, Alex, Annabell and Ariana. Jim is further survived by his siter, Cheryl Wozniak.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Raymon and Marvin.
