Melvin ("Mel") Joseph Ciezki, 94 years old, of Greendale, WI, passed away Sunday, February 22nd, 2026, at Arbor View in Burlington, WI. Mel was born on June 10, 1931, in Milwaukee, WI, to the late Joseph and Emily Ciezki. On April 16, 1955, he was united in marriage to his wife of 70-plus years, Delores ("Lorrie") Ciezki. Mel was a proud U.S. Marine, serving in the Korean War. He worked many jobs, mostly in sales, and was an entrepreneur, owning and operating his business, MAC Enterprises, for many years. He also had a great voice and worked as an auctioneer and liked to sing (especially later in life to his only granddaughter, Jessie, and to his great-granddaughter, Cedar).
Mel is survived by his wife, Delores Ciezki (nee Buerger); son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Michelle Ciezki; granddaughter Jessica (Colten) Uitermarkt; and great-granddaughter, Cedar. He just missed meeting his great-grandson as well.
Mel was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph Ciezki and Emily Ciezki (nee Kwint), and brother Kenn Kwint.
Mel lived a full life and loved his family with all of his heart and soul. He enjoyed his coffee and cookies and talking about his vast collection of "anything & everything" that he collected (and in the past sold at various venues including Rummage-O-Rama and St. Martin's Fair).
A visitation and light luncheon will be held at the Integrity Celebration Center, 2789 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, WI, 53105, on Sunday, April 12th, 2026, from 12pm-1:30pm to be followed immediately by a funeral service. Mel will be privately laid to rest at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI, with military honors.
Memorials in Mel's honor are welcomed to Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin; https://vowvillages.com/donate-vow
