Kathleen JoAnn Stardy, 70, of Burlington, formerly of Muskego, passed away October 4th, 2021, at Aurora Medical Center in Burlington surrounded by her loving family.
Kathy was born November 5th, 1950, in Hastings, NE to Fred and Ruby (nee Alber) Gobel. She attended St. Mary’s Grade School and High School in Burlington. On April 12th, 1969, she was united in marriage to Phillip C. Stardy. They lived in Burlington where they raised two children.
While her children were young, Kathy ran her own in-home day care. She had a large garden and canned a lot of her garden’s bounty. She was active in her children’s lives, especially as a Girl Scout leader and softball coach. She and Phil and their children spent a lot of time with the Stardy clan going to softball tournaments, camping, canoeing, and bowling. She later worked at Burlington Hospital and eventually earned a degree as a Registered Nurse. Kathy loved to dance to “the oldies” and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by many.
Kathy is survived by her son, Jeff, and fiancé, Amy, of New Berlin, daughter, Kim (Rich) Brumley, of Salem, four grandchildren, Alison Stardy of South Milwaukee, Alexis Arnold of Madison, and Richie and Rebecca Brumley of Salem. She is further survived by her mother, Ruby Gobel, siblings Steve, Paul (Anni), Tom (Vicki), Larry (Chris), Sue (Paul) Gross and Evelyn Stanger, sister-in-law Sue Stardy, brothers in law Jim Stardy and Ross Danielson, and many nieces and nephews.
Kathy was preceded in death by her infant son, Matthew, in 1971, her husband, Phillip, in 1989, her father, Fred Gobel, in 2011, and her infant granddaughter, Rachel Brumley, in 2013. She was also preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, John and Delores Stardy, brothers in law Jack Stardy, George Briggs, and Karl Stardy, sisters in law Diana Danielson, Janette Briggs, and Cheryl Stardy.
Kathy was a devout Catholic, strong in her faith, and we are comforted knowing she is now in the arms of her Savior.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Kathy’s life on Friday, October 15th, 2021 from 4:30 until 5:45 pm with a service to follow at Integrity Celebrations Center, 2789 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington.
