Judith (DeGrave) Schaefer

Judith Elizabeth Schaefer (née DeGrave), age 85, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Aurora Lakeland Hospital.

Judith was born on August 15, 1940, to James and Elizabeth (née Haase) DeGrave in Burlington, Wisconsin, where she was a lifelong resident. Judith graduated from Burlington High School and was employed by Attorney Robert Wanasek and Burlington Mills, where she met her husband, Gary Schaefer. The couple were united in marriage on June 7, 1968.  She was a devoted member of the Burlington United Methodist Church, which meant so much to her and reflected her deep love for her Lord.  Judith also volunteered extensively through her church, generously giving her time and talents in many facets of its ministry.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Gary; and her daughter, Jill.

Private burial services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Burlington United Methodist Church.
