Jeffrey Esser

Jeffrey J. Esser, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, unexpectedly passed away December 7, 2022 at the age of 66. 

Jeff was born on May 14, 1956 in Port Washington, WI to the late Arnold and Marjorie Esser. He grew up in Cedarburg and joined the Cedarburg Fire Department at the age of 18. He was an active member for the next 8 years until he moved to Wind Lake. Jeff married the love of his life Jan (née Sikora) on November 19, 1983. Together they raised three children, Jackie, Jamie, and Jeremy, in Tichigan where they enjoyed Tichigan Lake to the fullest. Jeff adored his loving family very much and had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren, Madelyn, Benjamin, Harper, and Charlette. 

Aside from his family, Jeff’s greatest passion was hot rods. It all started with a brand new 1975 Trans Am, a car which was enjoyed for many years but did not see rain until Jeff’s first (of many) Hot Rod Power Tour trips in 2007. The annual road trips were always a special time of the year for him. 

Jeff was known to chat with everyone he met and made many friends throughout the years at work and at the many car shows he frequented. He was kind, generous, and loyal and always supported his family. From teaching his kids (and grandkids) to waterski, to snowmobile trips in Wisconsin and Michigan, he spent nearly every minute of free time with his family. He was known to have a soft spot for his mom’s pineapple and custard pies, and he would never pass up BBQ. Jeff will be dearly missed by many. 

A Celebration of Jeff’s life will be held on Monday December 19, 2022 at the Tichigan Lions Civic Center, 6710 Big Bend Rd Waterford, WI 53185, for an open house gathering from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the family are greatly appreciated.
