Jay "Bob" Robert Adamek of Burlington, Wisconsin, passed away on June 3, 2026.
Bob was born on August 8, 1943, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, to the late John Adamek and Lorraine Dorn. He grew up in Burlington, where he graduated from Burlington High School and later attended UW–Whitewater. On September 25, 1965, he was united in marriage to Diana Lackas at Burlington Methodist Church.
Bob retired after many years of service with the City of Burlington Street and Park Department. He was a highly skilled mechanic who could fix just about anything. He enjoyed collecting classic cars throughout the years. His other interests included hunting, listening to music, playing various instruments, spending time with the family dog, and, most importantly, being with his grandchildren, who knew him lovingly as Papa.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diana; son, Kevin (Amy) Adamek; daughter, Sue (Jerry) Chilcoat; grandchildren, Quinn and Holly Adamek, and Brooke, Autumn, and Lukas Chilcoat; and brother, John Adamek.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lorraine, and his stepfather, Allan.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
