Dorothy F. (Bergmann) Jacobs

Dorothy F. Jacobs, age 89, from the town of Burlington, died peacefully on October 26, 2025, at Lakeland Health Community Center. 

Dorothy was born June 21, 1936, in New Berlin, Wisconsin, the daughter of John P. and Elisabeth M. (Brunner) Bergmann. Dorothy attended Mercy High School. On June 21, 1958, Dorothy married Kenneth J. Jacobs. Together they shared many wonderful years. Dorothy was a devoted farm wife who worked for Dreager food and Fohr's meat service. Dorothy was involved in 4H as her husband was and taught leather craft to many 4H kids. Dorothy had a special love for her crocheting, baking, and was especially known for her delicious famous German potato salad she made. To her family, she was lovingly known as “Tootie”. Dorothy had a love for her dachshund, Maggie. Dorothy was a beloved member of the Pine Brook Senior Living Center community, where she enjoyed being part of many activities. 

Dorothy is survived by her sons: Anthony (Mary) Jacobs, Tim (Beth) Jacobs, Ted (Jill) Jacobs, Terry Jacobs, and daughter: Christine (Brian) Blawat. Dorothy was blessed with fifteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and special friends who will miss her dearly.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth A. Jacobs, and daughter-in-law Mona.

 The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses, and staff at Burlington Hospital and Lakeland Health Community Center for the wonderful care and kindness they showed Dorothy during the past months.

An open house celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on Saturday, November 8th, 2025, at Integrity Celebration Center, (2789 Browns Lake Dr., Burlington, WI 53105), Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until a prayer and share service at 1:30 PM.  Dorothy will be privately laid to rest at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the Town of Dover.
