David D. Willis, 83, of Burlington, passed away Dec 21, 2021 at Lakeland Hospital, Elkhorn.
Dave was born Jan 2, 1938 to Roy and Freedia (Bohem) Willis in Mena, AK. His early life was spent in Mena, where he graduated from High School in 1956. A job led him to Wisconsin where he met Geri (Johnson) and they married Oct 14, 1961. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1961 and honorably discharged Sept 1967.
Dave spent the majority of his career at ANR Pipleline Company retiring in 1996. He had many passions and interests including; bowling, fishing, hiking, Nascar, football and after retiring he became an avid bike rider riding 30 miles a day.
Dave will be dearly missed by his wife of 60 years, Geri; children; Andrea Caforio of Marietta, GA, Brad (Kristen) Willis of Burlington, Ron Willis of West Palm Beach, FL, and Denise Willis of The Villages, FL; grandchildren, Jordan (Danielle) Willis, Catrina Caforio (Ryan) Edge, Jessica (Bryan) Januszewski, Joe Caforio, and Josh Willis; great-grandsons; Ethan, Nolan, and Xander; and a great-granddaughter due this week; sister-in-law Janette Arnold; many nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents; sisters and brother-in-laws.
A celebration of life is planned for Thursday, December 30th at 2:30pm at Integrity Celebration Center at 2789 Brown's Lake Dr, Burlington. Visitation is from 2:30pm to 3:50pm and a service will be held from 4:00pm to 4:30pm. Dave will be laid to rest at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Dave's name to Aurora At Home (Hospice) and Burlington Fire Department.
