David L. Taffs passed away July 22, 2024. Following a devastating diagnosis of AML (acute myeloid leukemia) in January of 1995 and a life expectancy of 4 days. Dave's incredibly brave fight for life began. Although not an easy journey, Dave was blessed with an additional 29 years of life. When his health allowed Dave Could be found on stage playing his bass guitar, Snowmobiling or in the garage with Derek working on making that sled go even faster. Also enjoyed camping and hanging out with friends and family. In more recent days, reading was a favorite pastime.
Born on December 16, 1958, to the late David and Rosemarie (Alix) Taffs. David is survived by his beloved wife Lori (nee Laux) Taffs. Loving dad to Derek (Amanda) Laux. Grandpa Dave to Austin (Gile) and Everlee Laux. Further survived by his Siblings Carol (James) Hass, Jeanne (Patrick) Weidner, Deborah (Gary) Little. Mother-in-law Phyllis (nee Block) Laux, Brother-in-laws Carl (Tammy) Laux, Scott (Diane) Laux, Eric (Allison) Laux, Chris (Pearl) Laux, Tyson (Connie) Laux, Sister-in-law Tracey (nee Laux) Deak, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents David and Rosemarie (Alix) Taffs, father-in-law George Laux and brother-in-laws Jeffery Laux and Frank Deak.
A heartfelt thank you to the medical team and staff at Froedtert Memorial Hospital and clinics. Their expertise, guidance, and endless time educating and training family provided a path for success to the many challenges Dave faced.
A celebration of life will be held on August 24, 2024, at Integrity Celebration Center, (2789 Browns Lake Dr. Burlington, WI 53105), from 3:00pm until 6:00pm.
