David J. Larson, 58, of Burlington, passed away Thursday, Sep. 9, 2021 at Aurora Medical Center in Burlington.
He was born September 22, 1962, in Burlington to James and Alice Larson. His entire life was spent in the Burlington area. He attended St. John's Evangelical Lutheran School, BHS, and UW Madison's Ag short course. On October 20, 1990, he was united in marriage to Janet. They raised three sons Marshall, Nathan, and Tucker.
David was a business owner and member of North Central Highland Cattle Association and past director and member of the American Highland Cattle Association. He also was a member of Lodge 28 FNAM. He worked for many years as the Town of Burlington Highway Dept. Superintendent.
He is survived by his wife, Janet and sons, Marshall (Rachelle), Nathan (Emily Burrell), and Tucker (Whitney) and one sweet granddaughter, Sophia. He is further survived by his sister Lori (Gerald) Kaul, and brothers, Michael Larson and Gary (Karen) Larson and cousin-brother Thomas Larson. Also, by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
David was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
David was born to be a farmer. His whole life was spent helping various farmers. From helping his grandfather and a neighborhood farmer to owning his own cattle. As a teenager, his first jobs were on farms as well. His heart has always been in farming. David was a kind and friendly guy. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his sister and brothers, nieces and nephews, and many friends.. He enjoyed hunting with his boys and brothers. He loved being Papa to his granddaughter Sophia. He thoroughly enjoyed his time spent with her. They truly had a special bond.
A celebration of David's life will take place on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Integrity Celebration Center. An open house visitation will be held from 3:30 pm to 6:45 pm, concluding with a 7:00 pm memorial service.
