Clyde Gorn Obituary

Clyde Gorn, 69, passed away in the early morning of January 3, 2025. He was surrounded by loved ones in the days preceding his passing. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life while remaining devoted to his loving family.

Clyde was born May 9, 1955, in Burlington, WI. Throughout his life, he was a member of the Waterford community, with many friends and family enjoying the light and humor he was known for espousing. Clyde was known as a loving father and husband always willing to celebrate good times with friends.

Clyde had many interests centered around outdoor activities of all seasons including snowmobiling, fishing, boating, camping, canoeing, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Clyde was also passionate about tinkering and fixing small engines, collecting and dealing tools, and was an enthusiast for classic muscle cars. Clyde also enjoyed grilling with a specialty in brats and was known for quoting “Now we are cooking with gas!” once the grill was ready to go. Clyde’s sports interests included both playing and watching bowling, basketball, football, drag racing, and fishing.

Most of all, Clyde took tremendous pride in “his girls” which included his loving wife Marilyn, 3 daughters, and most recently granddaughter Hannah. Clyde was always protective, loving, and was always there when needed by his family - no matter the issue or time of day. Clyde was also an animal lover, leaving behind his loyal companion lap dog, Charlie.

Clyde is survived by his wife Marilyn (Callewaert), daughters Melissa (Ryan) Bullington, Jessica, and Heather (Mark) Ziesemer, and newest family member granddaughter Hannah Ziesemer. Clyde is also survived by siblings Candy (Jerry) Guth, Cliff Jr. (Kay), Charlie (Diane), Cheryl (Jason) Splan, Cathy, and Claude. Clyde is further survived by extended family members, including many cherished nieces and nephews.

There will be a funeral to celebrate Clyde’s life on Sunday, January 12 at the Integrity Celebration Center (2789 Browns Lake Dr. Burlington, WI 53105). Visitation will be 1 pm until time of service at 2:50 pm followed by a private burial at Rochester Cemetery where Clyde will be laid to rest on Monday, January 13.
