Charles "Chuck" Furman Obituary

It is with sadness this message is being sent. Charles "Chuck" Furman went home to his Lord and Savior.

Charles (Chuck) Furman, age 64, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Presence Resurrection Medical Center Hospital. He was born on March 17, 1960, in Beloit, WI to parents Walter H. and Isabella Furman.

Chuck began working at American Airlines in June 1990 and spent the last 34 years working in aircraft maintenance.

In November 1990 Chuck moved to Kenosha, WI where he purchased his first home. Chuck served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the 128th Air Refueling Wing National Guard with a combined service of 17 years. Chuck’s National Guard unit was activated in December 1990 to support Operation Desert Shield where Chuck spent 4 months living in Egypt. He described the experience as challenging and rewarding. He was always grateful to God for His protection during the war.

In September 1992, Chuck met Mary Smage and her 4-year-old son Derek. Mary and Chuck were married on May 7, 1994, and Chuck adopted Derek.

Chuck later married Oyuna Marzec on May 21, 2011, and they were married for nearly 14 years before passing. They have been together for a total of 17 years.

Chuck loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed social gatherings and sharing photos of his travels. Chuck enjoyed traveling all throughout his life, especially throughout Europe during his military service and in the early years of his career. He enjoyed many cross-country road trips to attend air shows with his family. He most recently enjoyed traveling to Mongolia with his wife to spend time with family and friends.

Chuck was an avid sports fan, always on the sidelines to cheer on his kids at soccer, baseball, and football games. He frequently attended UW-Parkside Track and Field events to watch his son Jared compete over the past several years.

Chuck had a strong Christian faith and enjoyed speaking to others about Jesus. He especially enjoyed singing worship songs at Church and at home.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Isabella and his brothers Victor and Gregory.

Chuck is survived by his wife Oyuna Furman, sons Derek (McKenzie), Alec, Jared and his daughter Elayna, stepchildren Sylvia, Brian, and Anuka. Grandchildren Battushig, Adeline, Emma, Michelle, and Saphira. Chuck is also survived by his loving sister Alice Tangredi, his nephew Dan (Dawn) Tangredi and many other relatives and friends.

A funeral for Chuck will take place on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Community Church in Waterford, WI. A visitation will take place from 1:00pm until the time of service at 3:00pm. A meal and continued time of fellowship will follow the funeral service.
