With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carl Francis Pirk, who passed away at his home on February 25th, 2023, after suffering a heart attack at the age of 78.
Carl was born on October 19th, 1944, to Arthur Pirk and Mary (Bollwahn) Pirk in Racine, Wisconsin. He graduated from Horlick High School in Racine in 1963 and went on to work as a tool and die operator at Intermatic Inc. in Spring Grove, Illinois for 42 years.
Carl is survived by his loving wife, MaryAnn (Lois) Pirk who he married on October 13th, 1973, and with whom he shared nearly 50 years of marriage. He was a proud stepfather to Chris (Larry) Gobel, Craig Steffen and Carrie (Steffen) Colano. He was also a proud grandfather to Peggy Gobel, Brian (Jamie) Gobel, Cassandra (Jared) Owen, Amanda Steffen (fiancée Tommy Ruge), Vito Colano and Vincent Colano. Great-grandchildren Kasey Solofra, Kaylee Ledbetter, Jenna Gobel, Emsley Owen, and Edison Owen. Carl is also survived by siblings James (Theresa) Pirk, JoAnn (Joe) Slechta, and Craig (Dorry Waller) Pirk. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Carl was a handyman and took pride in his yard and garden. He loved spending time with his family. Carl had a special relationship with the staff at Simple Restaurant in Lake Geneva, who affectionately referred to him and MaryAnn as their grandparents. Carl and MaryAnn were also very proud representatives for McKay Nursery for 11 years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Carl's life will be held on Saturday, March 4th, 2023 at Integrity Celebration Center, (2789 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, WI 53105), with visitation beginning at 1PM until time of service at 1:50PM, followed by a time of fellowship from 2:30PM until 3:30PM.
Carl will be laid to rest at a later date next to his father at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Racine, Wisconsin.
