Bernadine “Bernie” M. Zeisse passed away Friday, August 8th, 2025.
She was born September 18th, 1926, in Oak Creek to the late Fred Sr. and Helen Bauer. She spent her early life and received her education in Caledonia. On August 17th, 1946, Bernie was united in marriage to Edwin “Bud” Zeisse. They were married 62 years before his passing in 2008.
Over the years, Bernie worked for Schroeder’s Store, Metro Auto Auction, and the Meadows Restaurant.
Bernie is survived by her children Connie Streuli, Ken (Jean) Zeisse, Joyce (Bruce Greil) Zeisse, and Kevin (Dorene) Zeisse; and by Grandchildren, Todd Streuli, Kendra Zeisse, Kari (Paul) Lusic, Brenda Zeisse, and Kayla (Mark) Peterson; and by great-grandchildren, Ryan Streuli, Kadyn Fleury, Tyler Lusic, and Mason Lusic. She is further survived by her brother Jack (Clare) Bauer and sister Carol (the late Jerry) Gresk.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Richard “Rick” Zeisse; brother Fred Jr. “Sonny” (Ginny) Bauer; brothers-in-law; and sisters-in law.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at Waterford Place, where she lived for almost two years. Power Back Therapy, also Allay Hospice, for their unending compassionate care during her declining final months.
Services for Bernie will be held on Friday, August 22nd, 2025, at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church (3320 S Colony Ave., Union Grove, WI 53182). Memorial visitation will be held from 2pm until time of Mass at 3:25pm. Bernie will be laid to rest at a later date.
Donations may be made in memory of Bernadine to the Town of Raymond Fire and Rescue, the American Cancer Society, or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
