William Harold Olson

It is with sadness we announce the passing of William (Bill) Harold Olson. William passed away peacefully on 4-5-18 at Oak Ridge Care Center in Union Grove, after suffering a stroke in early March 2018.

William was born in Waukegan, Illinois on January 20, 1942 to Harold and Joy Olson. William married Mary Ruth Wade on 2-2-1964 and had two daughters, Chris Drosdick (53) and Laura Kidd (49). William also has two grandchildren, Jon Michael Drosdick and Sophia Joy Drosdick. William has one surviving sibling, Barbara Wrona. William is preceded in death by his mother, Joy Claire Olson, father Harold Olson and sister, Bonnie Shepard.

William was self-employed during his career. He owned Olson Auto Supply and National Automotive for over 40 years. William was a strong-willed independent man who is remembered for his passionate nature, risk taking abilities and sense of humor. He also loved the Northwoods, hunting, the automotive industry and fishing.

William did not wish to have a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the American Heart Association.
