Marlene J. Charapata

Marlene J. Charapata, age 81, of Burlington, WI formally of Wind Lake and Milwaukee, WI; passed away peacefully on April 18th, 2018 at Zilber  Family Hospice Facility of Wauwatosa, WI. Marlene was born December 28th, 1936 to the late Edward and Alma Katzer.  Marlene graduated from Messmer High School and went on to receive a degree in nursing from Milwaukee Area Technical College.  She was a nurse for 40 years with Deaconess and St. Luke’s Hospitals. On May 11th, 1957 Marlene married the love of her life Louis N. Charapata and they raised three sons together.

Marlene will be dearly missed be her loving children Paul (Stephanie) of Burlington, WI; Peter (Mary Beth) of Muskego, WI; John (Shelly) of Emmetsburg, IA; her adoring grandchildren Maxwell, Mitchell, Jacob, Carl, Douglas, and Cassara; and her great grandchildren Makenzie, Jameson, and Harper Jo. She will be further missed by her brother Edward Katzer of West Bend, WI and her extended family from Indiana including grandsons Wesley Jackson, Corbin Jackson and great grandson Aadyn Jackson.

Marlene was preceded in death by her husband Louis and her parents Edward and Alma.

A celebration of Marlene's life will be held on April 26th, 2018 at the Cotton Exchange (345 Hickory Hollow Road Waterford, WI 53185) in the lower level Cotton Patch Room. A memorial service will be held promptly at 4:30pm, followed by an open house welcoming family and friends until 7pm.
