Karen K. Braund, 64, of Rochester, passed away March 9th, 2019 at Zilber Hospice Family House after fighting a three-year battle of bile duct cancer.
She was born in Burlington, WI; she was the daughter of Lowell and Lillian Braund of Franksville, WI. Karen retired after 35 years with the State of Wisconsin.
Karen is survived by her daughters Alysa Robbins and Kimberlee Duran (Robin), grandson Travis Duran, sisters Kathleen Steliga and Sherry Pilot; and brother Ronald Braund. Karen is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Lowell, and goddaughter/niece, Jodi Pilot.
Karen enjoyed crafting, cooking, and enjoyed her yard. She will be remembered for her dozens of Christmas cookies delivered to family, friends, and neighbors. As well as being a caring friend to everyone she met.
A celebration of Karen’s life will take place on Sunday March 17th, 2019 at Integrity Celebration Center 2789 S. Browns Lake Drive Burlington, WI 53105; corner of Hwy 36 and County Hwy W). Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 3:50pm, followed by a memorial service at 4:00pm officiated by Rev. Larry Williams.
A special thank you to Dr. Reggierie and Dr. Lisa, her Aurora Hospice team Tammy, Sandy, and especially her nurse Beth. AS well as her sisters and friends for taking her to her many appointments and her support system through the last three years.
